Leaving Oaxaca City, just 17 km away from the city center, we will head towards the Etla Valley, where “Quesillo y Papel” is a unique and distinctive cultural activity of this totally artisan site.
Firstly visiting a former hydroelectric plant located in San Agustín Etla, where there is a cooperative dedicated to making paper with natural fibers from the region, such as tree bark, branches, flowers, pigments and cotton.
You will also visit the San Agustín Center for the Arts, known as “Casa”, an enigmatic building for its architecture and contemporary art exhibitions, the spectacular Ex Sole Factory of Yarns and Fabrics founded in 1883, where the raw blanket was manufactured of cotton.
And finally, discover the secrets of Quesillo, of Oaxacan origin, unique texture and flavor, created within a family that produces cheese, cheese and cottage cheese is the last part of this excursion.
