Itinerary
Día 1
Visit Cdmx + Museum Anthropology + Typical Sweet
- We will start the visit by picking you up at your hotel at the agreed time (we will confirm the time by telephone at your hotel and depending on the location of the hotel it may vary between 08:00 and 08:30 H). We will go to the imposing Museum of Anthropology, which houses the most valuable archaeological collection of Mesoamerican cultures. One of the 23 rooms of the museum was dedicated to the Mexican Culture and that is where the famous stone of the sun or Aztec calendar is located. The Mayan room protects the impressive jade trousseau of Pakal Kin king of Palenque; while in the Zapotec room you will find the most beautiful gold jewels found in the tombs of Monte Albán and Mitla.
- At the entrance of the museum and if time permits, you can enjoy the spectacle of the famous Papantla flyers, who make an hourly exhibition (tip for the flyers not included)
- Again in our transport, we will take a panoramic tour of the most important and emblematic avenue of the city: the Paseo de la Reforma. In its roundabouts are essential monuments of the capital of Mexico - such as the Angel of Independence (symbol of the city) or the beautiful fountain of the Diana Huntress that coexists with prominent buildings, including the Reforma Tower, the highest in the city, as well as others of financial and commercial interest.
- Upon reaching the historic center we will leave our vehicle for a walking tour, visiting the most emblematic points of this beautiful colonial city: such as the majestic Palace of Fine Arts, with an eclectic architectural style and completely covered with Carrara marbles. Inside the palace boasts an extraordinary art deco decoration. The Casa de los Azulejos, with its colorful facade covered with Talavera tiles and a beautiful courtyard transformed into a restaurant and the spectacular Post Office Palace, with its central staircase as one of the most important elements of the enclosure.
- From 12:30 to 13:30 H free time for lunch (food not included, our guide will make suggestions).
- Our tour will continue along the Madero pedestrian street, one of the main accesses to the heart of the city and where we can discover the hectic daily life of the capitals. On the 5th of May street we will make a brief stopover to make a tasting of typical sweets in one of the oldest boutiques in the neighborhood. “Las alegrías” is the Mexican's favorite sweet, prepared with amaranth, a cereal of pre-Hispanic origin of great value to the Aztecs. We will continue to the Zócalo Capitalino, considered one of the largest public squares in the world; Panoramic visit to the Metropolitan Cathedral shows the architectural greatness of the city, the cathedral was built on what was once the Great Teocalli, the largest ceremonial center of the Aztec Empire; the National Palace, seat of the Federal Executive Power of Mexico, built in 1522, as the second private residence of Hernán Cortés; This enclosure houses the wonderful frescoes by Mexican painter Diego Rivera in which he captured the most representative moments in the history of Mexico.
